“He does it too much” – Ex-Eagles coach Gernot Rohr warns AC Milan about Samuel Chukwueze

The Super Eagles winger has joined the Serie A giants and is expected to bring even more excitement to the Italian top flight

Former Nigeria national team head coach, Gernot Rohr, has lauded the abilities of Samuel Chukwueze following the winger’s sensational move to AC Milan, Soccernet.ng reports.

After five successful years with Villareal, Chukwueze has signed a long-term contract with the prestigious San Siro club.

Having parted ways with Villareal, the Super Eagles forward is now set to take on the right-wing role for AC Milan, bolstering their squad as they aim to reclaim the Scudetto title they missed out on last season, which was claimed by Napoli.

Benin Republic head coach, Gernot Rohr, expressed admiration for Chukwueze’s qualities, though he noted that the wing-forward’s tendency to dribble can be a bit excessive at times.

Rohr, however, warned Milan fans to get ready to be entertained by Chukwueze.

In an interview with the Gazzetta dello Sport (as per TMW), Rohr, who worked with Chukwueze during his tenure as the technical commissioner of the Nigerian national team, remarked, “Let me tell you: Milan has acquired a talent. With me, he always played as a left winger.

“He has significant skills and a good shot, but his most important quality is undoubtedly one-on-one ability.

“He always manages to get past opponents, creates numerical superiority, and consistently takes on defenders. Perhaps he does it too much, but he will certainly entertain the fans.”

Chukwueze’s track record in Spain boasts notable achievements, including winning the UEFA Europa League in 2021 and being named the La Liga African MVP in the recently-concluded season.
