Manchester United: How Qatari take over can affect Victor Osimhen transfer move

The Glazer family has been very active this year as they try to find a respectable buyer for Manchester United.

It’s thought that the Manchester Club is only considering two bids to buy the football team.

British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Qatari banker Prince Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani publicly revealed their offers to the Raine Group, the merchant bank managing the prospective sale on behalf of the Glazers, before a self-imposed deadline last month.

Both the US hedge fund Elliott and the buyout financier Ares are apparently prepared to provide funding for a prospective transaction but are not bidding themselves.

As the deal progresses, a fresh hand will undoubtedly alter many aspects of the team, including certain players’ arrivals and departures to strengthen Erik ten Hag’s roster.

How will the Qatari takeover affect Osimhen’s move?

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has lately caught the attention of many elite European clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, and Chelsea.

The Nigerian attacker has been firing on all cylinders for his club, netting 19 goals in 22 games in the domestic league.

The president of Napoli, however, has been working relentlessly to keep the 24-year-old, signalling that he is not for sale and imposing a price tag of about €160 million on the striker.

Manchester United’s financial ability may prevent the sale from happening, but the takeover by their new investors may make it simple.

The Qatari owners are widely recognized as wealthy individuals for whom money is not a significant issue. That has been shown in their acquisition of various English Premier League teams, including Newcastle, Manchester City, and Ligue 1’s Paris Saint-Germain.

The transformation of Manchester City, who could now afford to buy players like Jack Grealish for a sum of £100 million from Aston Villa and Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, indicates their affluence.

Similarly, if the Qatari investors ultimately acquire Manchester United, the club will also undergo some roster changes, making it easy for them to get Osimhen for Napoli’s anticipated price.
