“If Arsenal wants to be champion,”- Sunday Oliseh advises Arteta after Liverpool draw

Arsenal and Liverpool drew 2-2 in what was seen as a pivotal encounter for Arteta’s side in their title bid

Super Eagles veteran Sunday Oliseh has sent a warning to Mikel Arteta and the Arsenal squad in their title challenge.

After praising Aaron Ramsdale’s excellent effort in sparing the Gunners from potential destruction by Jurgen Klopp and his team, the former Ajax player said that the Gunners must fasten their seatbelts while playing against top-level opponents.

In quest of their first victory at Liverpool since 2012, the Gunners were in full control with a two-goal advantage after 30 minutes, but they were left crushed as they paid the price for relinquishing control.

After eight minutes, Gabriel Martinelli capitalised on a shoddy Liverpool defence to give Arsenal the lead, and eight minutes later, Gabriel Jesus popped up between Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson unmarked to give Arsenal the lead.

Mohamed Salah scored at the far post to give the home visitors a chance to tie the score with a few minutes left in the first half.

After Rob Holding fouled Diogo Jota, Salah increased the pressure on Arteta’s defenders but missed his second consecutive penalty when he went wide. With three minutes remaining, Firmino rose at the far post to head in Alexander-Arnold’s cross.

A few seconds before the game’s conclusion, the Reds had a chance to extend their advantage, but Ramsdale, who stopped four efforts altogether, made two spectacular saves from Salah and Ibrahima Konate to give Arsenal a share of the game on Super Easter Sunday evening.

Following this, Oliseh praised Ramsdale for his excellent performance against Liverpool on his social media page.

“Top goalkeepers win points, Aaron Ramsdale once again confirmed my belief that he is an asset to Arsenal’s title chase with his 5-star performance vs. Liverpool. “ he composed.

Manchester City trails Arsenal by 6 points in the English Premier League, but if the Citizens win their outstanding game, the margin could be as little as three points.

The former star of Borussia Dortmund said that if the league’s top side wants to win the league title this season, they must become more aggressive against stronger opposition.

“If Arsenal wants to be champion, there is a need to muscle up against top opponents, in my opinion. Superb point won!” he added.

The Flying Emirate outfit would need to win all the rest of their matches to win this season’s Premier League title comfortably.
