How Alex Iwobi performed against Manchester United in his 130th outing for Everton

The Nigerian star has excelled for his team, earning the most assists in their battle against relegation

Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi, earned his 130th appearance for Everton during their Saturday lunchtime loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Nigerian attacker, who has been outstanding for Everton in their fight against relegation, was unable to continue his outstanding play outside of the Goodison Park Stadium.

With a lopsided 2-nil win, the Red Devils tightened their hold on a top-four spot and left Everton mired in relegation jeopardy.

Anthony Martial’s first Premier League goal since December and a quality first-half effort from Scott McTominay were sufficient for United to win.

Twelve points have been earned in 10 games since Sean Dyche replaced Frank Lampard, and if Everton had won their key match against Manchester United, they would be higher up the league than they are now.

On the other side, Iwobi would have been the most effective player to create some opportunities and even some passes, but he was unable to hit a shot that was even close to being on target.

The former Arsenal player got 47 touches throughout his 90 minutes of play, with 0.06 of those touches resulting in goals.

The Nigerian forward completed 21 precise passes, two of which were crucial, but none managed to get past Erik Ten Hag’s team’s defence.

Iwobi was unable to save his club, but Jordan Pickford was the only player between Everton and a humiliating loss that might have done serious damage to their goal differential.

The Nigerian star, on the other hand, will eagerly anticipate returning to form when they play the remaining matches in the EPL.

A successful point for The Merseysides will prevent them from slipping into the relegation zone.
