The Super Eagles square off against their West African rivals Ghana in a crucial World Cup qualifier doubleheader, but Ndidi will not be available

There has been a series of mixed reactions from fans following Super Eagles Midfielder Wilfred Ndidi’s in Leicester City’s 2-1 loss to Rennes in the round of 16 of their Europa Conference League tie.

The former Genk man was taken off for James Maddison on the hour mark after he went down with an injury. After the game, Foxes’ boss Brendan Rodgers revealed that Ndidi had sustained a knee ligament injury.

Knee ligament injuries take up to a month before full recovery, which invariably means that Ndidi would be out of the doubleheader.

The Super Eagles star is arguably one of the best in his positions and would have been a crucial part of the game against Ghana.

Most Ghanaian fans are delighted with Ndidi’s potential absence, but Nigerian fans are sore, as there is hardly any tested and trusted midfielder that would fit into his position.
