(Breaking): #EndSARSMemorial: Police Fire Tear Gas At Protesters At Lekki Toll Gate (Video)
Tear gas has been fired at #EndSARSMemorial protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos State by operatives of the Nigerian Police.
The Police fired the tear gas while some youths were holding a memorial car procession, our correspondent gathered.
The Police had warned that it won’t allow any form of street protest in commemoration of the #EndSARS protest but the youths who trooped out in their numbers on Wednesday morning have defied the security operatives.
Below is the video.
As earlier reported by Ezenwoko’s Blog, multi-talented rapper and actor, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, and Comedian Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, on Wednesday joined protesters to mark the #EndSARSMemorial.
The duo joined other youths in the car procession at Lekki tollgate in Lagos.
This is despite a ban on protests in Lagos and the heavy presence of armed police personnel at the venue.
Speaking to newsmen, Mr Macaroni, who was in a Lexus SUV, said Nigeria must listen to the demands of youths and embrace good governance.
On his part, Falz, who also drove himself, said Nigerians must learn to stand up for their rights
The celebrities and other activities who turned up at the tollgate with their cars were seen waving Nigerian flags from inside the vehicles.
The protesters were also honking their horns while singing solidarity songs.
