The Super Eagles of Nigeria secured an unexpected draw in the FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho, which has placed them in a hopeless situation among the fans

Former Super Eagles player and coach, Daniel Amokachi, has expressed steadfast confidence in the Nigerian team’s abilities despite recent doubts following their 1-1 draw against Lesotho, Soccernet.ng reports.

The unexpected draw against the Crocodiles at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, has sparked concerns among Nigerian football fans.

However, speaking at an event introducing the Eagles’ rallying cry, “Let’s Do It Again,” in preparation for the upcoming AFCON in Ivory Coast, Amokachi highlighted the unpredictable nature of football.

Amokachi believes in the quality of the current team under Jose Peseiro’s management, emphasizing their potential to secure a World Cup spot and perform well in the Africa Cup of Nations.

“A lot of people have had doubts about Thursday’s result against Lesotho, but football is football,” he commented. “The beauty of the game lies in having quality in your team; a good day will surely come. I have immense faith in this generation.”

“In challenging times, we rise to the occasion. That’s what drives us as a nation. Challenges may come, but our determination and resilience always propel us forward. Let’s do it again. Let’s do it again,” Amokachi added.

The three-time AFCON Champions are set to face Zimbabwe at Huye Stadium today, aiming to bring joy to Nigerian fans with a strong performance.
