Why Napoli should be ready to lose Osimhen – Odion Ighalo
The English Premier League has been extensively linked with a move for Victor Osimhen, who has performed well for the Gli Azzurri.
Nigerian International, Odion Ighalo, has explained why Napoli has to be prepared to lose Victor Osimhen during the forthcoming transfer window.
The Super Eagles star believes that despite being extremely young, his fellow countryman is capable of doing all a proper striker can accomplish.
However, the former Manchester United star considers the Neapolitan forward to be the best African attacker right now.
However, the former Lille star has recently made headlines following his impressive performance for Luciano Spalletti's men. Meanwhile, Ighalo said in an interview with Omasports that he is not shocked by the 24-year-old's superb performance so far.
“One thing I know in life is if you put God first, you work hard and you're humble, you already have everything. I see him doing that and I know the sky is the limit for him. He is doing well and I am not surprised because he's a good kid and he's a fighter.” he said.
The Nigerian striker has reportedly grown grit and rigour recently, however the former Watford striker claims that these are among the qualities that have caught the attention of several European teams.
“He can score goals, he can run, he can defend, he can do everything. For me, he is one of the best strikers in Africa now if not the world because he is scoring goes week in week out, and he is a young boy.” Says Ighalo.
In recent days, Manchester United, Newcastle, and Arsenal have all been heavily linked to Osimhen. Ighalo, though, has said that sooner or later, the striker will have to move on.
“You won't be surprised if not this January, maybe in the summer, a big team will take him away from Napoli because he deserves it. It's football and they will get their money right? Everything has a price tag.” he added.
On Saturday against Salernitana, the Nigerian ace scored another goal to bring his total to 13, moving him two goals ahead of Ademola Lookman, a fellow countryman (11)
