Watch: Joe Aribo characterizes the player who would never return his calls as “the Worse”
Joe Aribo, who may be making St Mary Stadium his home in less than six months with the squad, seems to be finding life exciting in the video.
The Nigerian international Joe Aribo has dubbed English international, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, as the worst call-picker.
The Super Eagles player claims that his Southampton teammate seldom returns his calls when he needs him in a video shared on the club’s Instagram page.
The midfielder, who joined the Saints from Glasgow Rangers for a cost of roughly £6 million in less than 6 months, must have found life in England fascinating.
In the video, the Nigerian attacker said that he was playing PlayStation with the fullback and attempted to contact his phone, but the call was still not answered.
Who in this team will not pick up the phone the first time if your life is on the line and you need to make a call? The interviewer in the video posed this question.
The first person to respond, Joe Aribo, remarked, “I’m going, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, this guy is the worse.” he said.
“I’m on PlayStation with him, speaking with him and trying to call his phone, and he’s not answering. Doesn’t make sense,” he added.

Away from the video, the Saints have not played well so far in the league, currently occupying the bottom spot with 12 points.
The 26-year-old could as well be struggling more with the team effort, but on an individual level, he has scored twice for Nathan Jones’ club in 18 games.
