Vox Naija: Nigerians lament poor circulation of new Naira notes

The Central Bank of Nigeria has said that it has released the newly-redesigned Naira notes into circulation and even ordered banks to load their Automated Tellers Machines with the notes but for reasons yet unknown, Nigerians are not getting the notes.

Some Nigerians share their frustrations with the development in this episode of VoxNaija.

One of those we spoke to is Mary Popoola, who said that although she has received the new notes she sometimes rejects them because they are not fully in circulation.

Another respondent, Moses Ebuka, lamented that the notes are not in circulation even in the banks and expressed concern about what to do with the deadline for the phasing out of the old notes drawing close.

While Joy Abara said she doesn’t like the texture of the notes, Segun Joseph has not had the opportunity to touch the new notes, although he has seen them twice.
