Two Ogun senatorial candidates step down for Daniel

The senatorial candidates of the Action Alliance and the Action Democratic Party in the Ogun East Senatorial District, Chief Dayo Ogunjebe and Mrs  Funmilayo Idris, respectively have dumped their political parties and defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress.

The defectors also said they  had stepped down for the APC senatorial candidate, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, who is a former governor of the state,

Both the AA and  ADP candidates announced their defection on Saturday at a mega rally held by Daniel at the Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area Secretariat, Itoro, Ijebu-Ode, where Daniel brought his campaign for the 2023 polls to a close.

Both Ogunjebe and Idris  explained that they decided to team up with Daniel because he was “the best man for the job.”

According to them, the APC senatorial candidate has the capacity, track record, rich experience and other qualities required to effectively represent Ogun East at the National Assembly.

The defectors, with their supporters, were officially received into the APC by the party’s South-West Zonal Woman Leader, Mrs Yetunde Adesanya, who promised that they would be integrated and given a sense of belonging.

Ogala said it had become necessary to have trusted, good and reliable hands in the National Assembly to complement the efforts of Tinubu’s administration if elected as President.
