Transfers: AC Milan to kick off transfer negotiation for Super Eagles star today

Italian giant, AC Milan, are adamant in their pursuit of highly rated Nigerian player, Samuel Chukwueze, and negotiations with Villareal start today for the transfer of the winger to Italy, Soccernet.ng report

Samuel Chukwueze remains of interest to AC Milan, who have seen the 24-year-old as a focal point in this summer window to improve their right wing.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nigerian International is getting closer to agreeing on a deal with the Milan-based club, which could soon see him become the sixth Nigerian player to wear the famous black and red shirt in the history of the club after Taribo West, Nnamdi Oduamadi, Aliyu Datti, Taye Taiwo, and Kinglsey Umunegbu.

Negotiations between the club are set to start today, with the player already showing the desire to join Milan. While agreement on a fee between the two clubs remains the main obstacle, the Italian club is not willing to match Villareal’s £30m demand for the player.

Chukwueze has made 207 appearances in Villareal’s Yellow Submarine Jersey, scoring 37 goals and 31 assists, and has been scouted by Milan as a perfect fit in their plans for the coming season.

Milan Manager Stefano Pioli believes the 24-year-old speed and his attacking intent make him the perfect player to operate with Portugal’s Rafael Leao on the wings for the club next season.

The Italian club CEO, Furlani is believed to be starting the negotiations in the coming hours to reach an agreement between the two clubs.
