This is coming days after the camp of Governor Wike pulled out of the presidential campaign of the PDP following the failure of Iyorchia Ayu to resign as the National Chairman of the party.

As of Wednesday, it appeared like PDP and Atiku were ready to move on with the 2023 race following the inauguration of the campaign council.

However, Atiku and Wike met on Thursday in Abuja, with the former vice president pleading with Wike to prevail on his camp to join the campaign train of PDP.

This is coming at the time that four members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP returned monies paid into their account by Ayu.

According to Jamo, the PDP would have had a walk-over in the 2023 presidential election if Obi and Kwankwaso remained in the party.

Ezenwoko's Blog reports that Osinbajo via his verified social media handle marked Nigeria's independence anniversary by sharing photos of past Nigerian leaders with the inscription, ‘the Labour of our heroes past share never be in vain.'

However, the photo message did not sit well with many people questioning the VP over his silence on major issues threatening the country, particularly the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike that has lingered for more than seven months.
