Three in, one out: Osimhen leads Napoli charge for Scudetto glory against Nigerian contingent at Udinese

Italian football fans are in for a treat on Thursday night as Victor Osimhen looks set to lead the line for Napoli at the Dacia Arena in Udine, where they are favourites to win the Serie A title against Isaac Success’ Udinese, Soccernet.ng reports

While Success is out injured, Kingsley Ehizibue and Destiny Udogie, two players of Nigerian descent, are in Udinese’s matchday squad.

Napoli’s Scudetto party was ruined last weekend after a late Salernitana goal denied them a victory at the Stadio Maradona.

Despite Lazio winning on Wednesday, Napoli only need one point to guarantee finishing in first place, with an 18-point lead at the top of the table. This is a significant achievement for the club, who have not won the Serie A title since the 1989/90 season.

Victor Osimhen will hope to make history by becoming only the second Nigerian international to win the Italian league title, and he is likely to lead the line for Napoli.

Although he has failed to score in his last three league appearances, the in-demand striker boasts an impressive record of four goals in as many games against Udinese.

Napoli’s overall form is impressive, having been undefeated in 33 of their last 36 matches in Serie A, and they have won their last six matches against Udinese in all competitions.

On the other hand, Udinese suffered a narrow defeat in Lecce last week and have dropped into 13th place. They have drawn four of their last six games at home, and it will take some special effort to stop Napoli from claiming the Scudetto on their turf.

A thrilling encounter awaits in Udine, and it would be hard to bet against Napoli, but Udinese will be hoping to cause an upset and be the second side to spoil the title party for the champions-in-waiting.
