The Omonia Nicosia fullback is currently on international duty with the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifier against Ghana. The baby is Shehu’s first, and it could be a huge morale booster for the former Sokoto-born right-back.
Shehu missed out on the Africa Cup of Nations because of a niggling injury, and the game against Ghana would be his first under Super Eagles interim boss Augustine Eguavoen.
The former Kano Pillars star has 38 caps for the three-time African champions, and he would look to add to that when Nigeria trade tackles against Ghana. However, he would have to displace Ola Aina, who filled in brilliantly at the AFCON.
