Romano confirms Tottenham’s interest to sign Nigerian promising youngster as Harry Kane’s replacement

Gift Orban has been one of the sought-after striker in Europe after a breakthrough season with Gent that saw him registered 20 goals in 22 appearances

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Nigeria and Gent striker, Gift Orban, is on the list of Tottenham Hotspur’s replacement for Harry Kane if they lose the Englishman this summer, Soccernet.ng reports

Kane has been heavily linked with a move to Germany in the colour of Bayern Munich since the start of the transfer window.

The Bavarians remain optimistic in getting a deal through for Kane before the end of the transfer on September 1st, despite seeing their initial two bids rejected by Tottenham, with Bayern believing another bid in the range of £100m could tempt Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to part ways with his star striker this summer.

Ange Postecoglou’s side, who finished a distant 8th position in the Premier League last campaign, have reportedly made a list of their possible replacement for their all-time highest goalscorer.

Tottenham have identified Nottingham Forest striker Brennan Johnson as their primary target to replace Harry Kane, but manager Steve Cooper doesn’t want to sell Johnson, and this might push the London club to turn their attention toward Gift Orban, who has been identified as another target to replace the English striker according to Daily Mail

In another development, Fabrizio Romano confirmed Tottenham have concrete interest in the Gent striker to replace the 30-year-old.

Keep an eye on Gift Orban – the striker from Gent – because he is really appreciated by Tottenham. I will tell you more on this one in the next days, but I can guarantee you he is one of the names Tottenham are keeping an eye on incase Daniel Levy will give the green light to Harry Kane deal, Romano said on his YouTube channel

Orban has been attracting interests from suitors in Europe after an impressive season in Belgium that saw him netted 20 goals in 22 appearances for Gent last season.

The 21-year-old has continued from where he stopped last season, scoring in the club’s pre-season games and was also on target for his club as they claimed a 5-1 first leg advantage in the Europa Conference League before opening his Belgian Pro League account with a goal in Gent’s 3-2 victory over KV Kortrijk in their second competitive game of the season.
