Remo Stars boss Ogunmodede sends powerful message to Sporting Lagos ahead of Naija Super 8 final clash

Remo Stars manager, Daniel Ogunmodede, has fired a warning to Sporting Lagos in a South-West derby clash slated to hold today, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Lagos-based club will take on Remo Stars in the final of the Naija Super 8 tournament at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.

Despite being a pre-season tournament, the head coach of the Ogun State-based club has revealed that his troops will be putting on effort to secure the trophy.

Sporting Lagos, who recently gained promotion have been ursuping mountains in their short time around, and so far,  remain undefeated in the competition as they qualified to the semi-final from Group A with seven points, winning two games. They drew their opening game against the NPFL Champions, Enyimba International.

Fellow Group A participants, Remo Stars, also qualified for the final after a win against Lobi Stars in the semi-final saw them secure their spot in the final of the Naija Super 8 tournament. Remo Stars and Sporting Lagos met earlier in the tournament, with the Lagos side coming out on top, beating the Ogun side 2-1.

In a game where the spotlight is on the winner, both coaches have been positive and think their side can come away with the grand prize. Speaking to Soccernet.ng in anticipation of the match, Remo Stars coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, speaking in anticipation of the match, said;

“We want to win. I said it before when we started, it might be a pre-season tournament, but it is one of our goals to win, and that is what we came here to do.”

His counterpart, Sporting Lagos’ coach, Daniel Offor, was in awe of the fans and applauded their support for the team. He said; “The fans keep us going. Sometimes when we just feel tired, we hear the noise and we just find the strength to go again. We will have their support and we will work hard and do our best to make them proud.”

The tie between the two south-west clubs is expected to kick off by 5 pm today, at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos.
