President Buhari Celebrates Sanwo-Olu At 57
Today June 25, 2022, marks the 57th birthday of the executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Nigeria’s number one citizen, President Muhammadu Buhari is felicitating with the All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart.
The Nigerian leader in a congratulatory message released through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, commended the impact of the governor under his administration.
Buhari noted the remarkable strides of service in the private and public sectors by the incumbent governor. He also observed Sanwo Olu’s visionary leadership with impact on infrastructure, security, business outlook and public service.
He also applauded Governor Sanwo-Olu for creating opportunities for Nigerians and foreign investors to benefit from the economic vibrancy of the state.
“Sanwo-Olu’s vast experience in the private sector will always be relevant in pursuing competence and excellence in governance, after working successfully with the big financial institutions in the country,” Adesina said quoting the president.
Buhari prayed that the almighty God would keep and prosper the governor, who was onetime former Managing Director and CEO of Lagos State Property Development Corporation, and his family.
Meanwhile, according to a yearly assessment from the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) released on Thursday, Lagos is ranked the second-worst city in the world to live in.
Using the most recent 2022 Global Liveability Index data, Lagos was rated 171 out of 172 nations on the list of the world’s most livable cities for the first quarter of 2022.
This report makes the Nigerian best city the worst in Africa as Damascus (Syria) and Tripoli (Libya) continue to languish at the bottom of the list along with Lagos (Nigeria) over issues of social unrest, terrorism and conflict.
The cities with the lowest quality of life were Karachi in Pakistan, Damascus in Syria, Lagos in Nigeria, Tripoli in Libya, and Algiers in Algeria, which had scores of 30.7, 32.2, 34.2, 37.0, and 37.5, respectively.
