Peter Obi Meets Okonjo-Iweala In Switzerland [Photos]

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has met with the Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

Ezenwoko’s Blog reports that the former Governor of Anambra State met with the former Minister of Finance at the WTO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, on Wednesday.

In a tweet via his verified Twitter handle, Obi said they both discussed Nigeria’s economic recovery and the role of trade, given the dire straits the country is in.

The LP flagbearer appreciated Okonjo-Iweala for her time, frank engagement, useful advice and guidance.

The former Governor of Anambra said he remains committed to building a better Nigeria for future generations.

He wrote: “Today, I was at the @WTO HQ in Geneva, Switzerland, to discuss and gain some insight about Nigeria’s economic recovery (relative to the role of trade and investment), given the dire straits we are in.

“I [email protected] most sincerely for her time, frank engagement, useful advice and guidance. I remain committed to building a better Nigeria for the future generations.”

The LP presidential candidate is currently on a foreign tour to meet with his supporters in Canada, Germany, London, Rome, the United States and Switzerland, ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Atiku vs Wike: 15 Out Of 19 PDP NWC Members Plot Against Iyorchia Ayu

About 15 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) have allegedly resolved to back calls for the removal of the party’s National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.

According to Vanguard, some members of the NWC from the Southern part of the country expressed the opinion that the party’s National Chairman could have handled the PDP’s crisis better at the NWC meeting, presided over by Ayu at the National Secretariat.

Though the meeting dwelt heavily on the agenda to be presented to the party’s caucus and NEC, the party’s effort to reconcile aggrieved members also featured.

They reportedly resolved to pass a vote of no confidence on the National Chairman.
