OGC Nice manager holds out hope for Moffi’s return
Terem Moffi sustained a hamstring injury that would prevent him from playing for his club for more than four weeks, preventing him from competing for Nigeria in the AFCON
OGC Manager, Francesco Farioli , has hinted at a potential return for Nigerian international Terem Moffi despite a hamstring injury, Soccernet.ng reports.
Moffi finds himself in the provisional squad set to represent Nigeria in the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, although concerns arose when news surfaced of a hamstring injury that might sideline him for about a month.
Ahead of their Ligue 1 clash against RC Lens at the Allianz Riviera Stadium, Farioli suggested that Moffi could feature if his injury is not severe.
“We will try to get him. Today he will train with the team, we will see how he reacts. We hope to get it back but we won’t take any unnecessary risks. If the player feels like it, he will be in the game, otherwise we will do without.” Farioli stated via the club’s website.
Moffi’s recent contributions of four goals and two assists in his last 15 Ligue 1 appearances underscore his significance to the team, making his potential return pivotal for both OGC Nice and the Super Eagles ahead of the AFCON tournament.
