Nigerians will get ‘Super Eaglets’, more than Golden Eaglets – Nduka Ugbade
The Golden Eaglets are currently in Abuja where the U-17 coaching team are putting them through their paces ahead of the WAFU tournament
Golden Eaglets handler, Nduka Ugbade has boasted about the quality of the team he’s building.
Ugbade, a former Nigerian youth and senior international has overseen the selection of young players for the country’s next cadet team.
Reports from within the camp said 40 players have been picked for a closed camping at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
Ugbade responding to questions on the level of preparation of his team and the strength of the team he’s building said;
“The one you will get is surely going to be more. They won’t be just Golden Eaglets. They’ll be Super Eaglets
“You’re going to see everything – strength and speed, intelligence, navigating intelligence most importantly and a lot of creativity.”
Nigeria missed out on the last U-17 African Championship. They’re 5-time winners of the U-17 World Cup and last participated at the global stage in 2019 when players like Akinkunmi Amoo and Samson Tijani starred in the team.
