Nigeria suffer huge setback ahead of Ivory Coast clash
The Super Falcons trade tackles with Ivory Coast on Wednesday, but they will be without one of their best players for the huge clash
Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala has been ruled for ten weeks due to a niggling thigh injury, which means that she will not be part of the team that will take on Ivory Coast in the return leg of their crucial Africa Women’s Cup of Nations qualifier on Wednesday.
Oshoala was conspicuously missing from the matchday squad for the game against Ivory Coast last week, although Ifeoma Onumonu stepped up to score two crucial goals for the eleven-time African Champions to give them a 2-0 victory.
Nigeria will face Ivory Coast in the second leg on Wednesday, and coach Randy Waldrum will need his best players to be available.
Unfortunately, he will have to make do without the Super Falcons’ best striker and captain Oshoala, as Barca Femini reports that the 27-year-old has been ruled out for ten weeks.

Nonetheless, coach Waldrum can count on Onome Ebi to fill in as captain and Onumonu to get the goals once more.
