Ngozi Okobi: Super Falcons forward reacts to exclusion from Randy Waldrum’s World Cup list
Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum, has recently named his 23-strong squad for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup
Super Falcons forward, Ngozi Okobi, has expressed her reaction to being left out of the Super Falcons’ squad for the upcoming 2023 World Cup, according to a report by Soccernet.ng.
The recently announced 23-player list by coach Randy Waldrum is set to represent Africa as they embark on their journey to the FIFA Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Australia and New Zealand next month.
However, Okobi, known for her dazzling dribbling runs from the right side of midfield, was not included in the team.
Following her omission, Okobi took to Twitter to express her gratitude for all situations, despite her disappointment at not making the final squad.
Fans and followers were curious if her absence was due to injury, to which she clarified, stating, “No, I am not [injured]. I am physically sound and healthy.”
Okobi’s exclusion from the World Cup squad comes as a surprise to many, considering her significant contribution in the quarter-final clash, where her efforts led to a crucial goal for the Super Falcons.
Nevertheless, she remains positive and focused, maintaining her fitness and readiness to contribute to the team whenever called upon.
The Super Falcons will undoubtedly miss Okobi’s skills and presence on the field, but they will rely on the collective strength of the chosen squad as they compete against the world’s best teams in the upcoming tournament.
