New police equipment excite Lagos PPRO, says ‘we can’t wait’

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, has expressed excitement over the new equipment to be unveiled by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on behalf of the Nigeria Police Force on Monday.

Hundeyin, who took to his official Twitter handle on Saturday night, said he couldn’t wait to receive the new equipment in Lagos.

The PUNCH had earlier reported that ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, had concluded plans for the President to unveil the new equipment acquired to improve upon the operational capabilities of the Nigeria Police Force, particularly in crowd control and anti-riot operations at Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters, Abuja,

The equipment to be unveiled include a total of 127 operational vehicles such as Toyota Hilux Pick Up vans, Zahab Classic Pick Up vans, Mikano Rich-6 Pick Up vans, anti-riot water cannons, Armored Personnel Carriers, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Jeeps, Toyota Coaster buses, Toyota Hiace Ambulances, Mikano Trucks, and Crowd Control Barriers Vehicles.

Reposting pictures and videos of the new equipment, Hundeyin wrote, “Wow! We can’t wait to get our share @LagosPoliceNG.” In a subsequent tweet, he said, “Better policing in view.”

The President is expected to unveil the newly acquired equipment on Monday,  February 13, 2023.
