Navy observes Gala night to honour Buhari


In honour of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), The Nigerian Navy, on Saturday, observed a Gala night event as part of the events lined up for the Presidential Fleet Review 2023, which is scheduled to hold between May 19 and May 22.

The event, which took place at the Naval Dockyard in Victory Island, Lagos, had high-ranking officers of the Nigerian Navy and guests of honour in attendance, chaired by the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo, who at this time paraded in native attire. Other officers and guests of honour were also in their native attires while some made their business casuals outlook a preference.

The Presidential Fleet Review is an event organised by the Nigerian Navy to mark the end of the current political dispensation and to honour the Grand Commander of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Recall that the last time it was observed was in 2010.

The event showcased different stage plays starting with the Ekemini Cultural Troupe from Akwa-Ibom State, which made a beautiful performance, making music of trending and contemporary songs with their xylophone and percussions, thrilling the guests to a beautiful night show, among other performances by other groups.
