Napoli forward Victor Osimhen downplays injury fears following Sassuolo victory
Osimhen scored his 100th career goal as his second goal on the night ensured Napoli beat the Watermelon peel at the Mapei Stadium.
Super Eagles forward, and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen has commented on his injury worries after his team’s victory against Sassuolo.
The goal poacher once again delivered a magnificent performance for Luciano Spalletti’s men against the Black and Greens on Friday evening.
After smashing a shot past Andrea Consigli, the 24-year-old increased his season total to 18 domestic league goals in 19 matches.
After netting for the seventh time in a row, the Parthenopean striker was observed hobbling off the field and was replaced in the 85th minute as a precaution.
Following this, a social media influencer, Asiwaju Lerry, rushed to his Twitter page to pray against any injury worries for the Super Eagles player.
“Victor Osimhen came off holding his leg and limping off the field… God abeg, any injury that will hold his leg let it happen to Smallie instead,” he wrote.

The Nigerian forward became the first Napoli player since 1994/95 to score in seven consecutive Serie A matches in the three points for a victory era, and he will aim to maintain his excellent record when his side travels to Deutsche Bank Stadium.
