Live Updates: APC, PDP, SDP Lock Horns At Ekiti Governorship Election 2022

The Ekiti State Governorship election gets underway today with political parties slugging it out for who will replace Governor Kayode Fayemi for the next four years.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has expressed readiness to conduct today’s election.

Some of the candidates and their party participating in the election are: Biodun Oyebanji – All Progressives Congress (APC), Wole Oluyede – African Democratic Congress (ADC), Debo Ajayi – Young Progressives Party (YPP), Moses Olajide – African Action Congress (AAC), Olufemi Obidoyin – All Progressives Congress (APGA), Segun Oni – Social Democratic Party (SDP), Bisi Kolawole – Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Daramola Roland – Labour Party (LP), Oladosu Fatomilola – New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Olaniyi Agboola – People’s Redemption Party (PRP)

10: 09: The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bisi Kolawole has cast his vote in the ongoing governorship election in Ekiti State.

Ezenwoko’s Blog gathered that the governorship candidate cast his vote at Unit 001, Ward 8 in Efon-Ekiti, Efon local government area of the state.

09:56: Voting has commenced in some polling units in Ekiti State as voters troop out to vote for their preferred governorship candidate. The elected governorship candidate would take over from the state Governor, Kayode Fayemi whose tenure would end in 2023.

08:25: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the deployment of electoral officials to designated polling units ahead of the Ekiti State governorship election today Saturday, June 18, 2022. Ezenwoko’s Blog understands that residents of Ekiti State will decide the fate of the state as they vote for their choice of candidate in the polls today.
