Liberec signs Olatunji on permanent deal

Three-time Czech champions, Slovan Liberec, have confirmed on their website the completion of a permanent deal for Nigerian striker Victor Olatunji, PUNCH Extra reports.

Liberec exercised the option to acquire the player, who had been on loan from Cyprus's Larnaca since January.

The 23-year-old played a total of 1,253 minutes in his 18 league appearances in Liberec jersey and got on the scoresheet on eight occasions with one assist.

He also showcased his versatility and discipline on the field, accumulating just one yellow card, while maintaining a commendable 56.9 per cent dribbling success rate and nearly 20 per cent shooting success rate.

His impressive performances during his loan spell was enough to convince the club to activate the option of signing him on a permanent deal.

“The wish of many fans is becoming a reality. Slovan exercised the option on Nigerian striker Victor Olatunji, who has been on loan under Ještěd from Larnaca in Cyprus since January,” read a part of the club statement.

“The native of Sokoto, Nigeria, played for Slovak Inter Bratislava and Podbrezová in the past, he also played for Austrian SV Mattersburg and, in addition to Larnaca, he also wore the jersey of Cypriot Alki Oroklini.

“Now he is becoming a regular player for Slovan Liberec. And after exercising the option on Ľubomír Tupta, it is a further strengthening of our offensive for next season.”
