We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Legal / Compliance Officer
Location: Igbosere Road, Lagos Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an effective legal compliance program
- Create effective internal controls and monitor adherence to them
- Draft and revise company policies
- Fulfill regulators' reporting obligations
- Check products from legal and compliance perspective.
- Receive and direct compliance issues for investigation and resolution.
- Develop, maintain and review compliance policies to prevent improper, unethical and illegal conduct.
- Handle rules, regulations and policy violation and review and suggest procedures initiation.
- Proactively audit processes, practices and documents to identify weaknesses
- Evaluate business activities (e.g. investments) to assess compliance risk
- Collaborate with internal/external auditors, internal control and HR as necessary
- Set plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation
- Educate and train employees on regulations and industry practices

Requirements
- Requisite Law Degree
- At least 3 years professional experience preferably within the financial services environment.
- Good understanding of Compliance activities in Financial Services
- Attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Strong Stakeholder Management and great team-play.
- Self-Starter and ability to work independently
- Excellent working knowledge of relevant Microsoft tools;
- Good knowledge of CBN regulatory reporting
