KRC Genk boss Wouter Vrancken provides positive update on Arokodare’s injuries
The Nigerian attacker, Arokodare, has appeared four times for the Smurfs in the domestic league, contributing one goal and one assist.
KRC Genk boss, Wouter Vrancken, following their victory against KV Oostende at home, provided an update on Nigerian attacker, Tolu Arokodare, who suffered an injury during the game.
While it was a happy occasion for the Smurfs, who got their certainty of participating in the champions’ play-offs, two injuries—one to the Nigerian and one to Belgian player Bryan Heynen, who was substituted early in the match—almost derailed the celebration for the hosts.
Arokodare, who replaced Paul Onuachu, who has since joined Southampton, at the very end of the January transfer window by moving to the Jupiter Pro League, has since been a key member of Vrancken’s squad.
During their match against De Kustboys, the Nigerian and his teammate Heynen had to withdraw from the game due to knee injury.

The former K.V. Kortrijk manager quickly addressed the severity of both players’ injuries after the team won by a score of 3-nil.
“Tolu had problems with his knee, but it would not be a cruciate ligament injury. Heynen had problems with his hamstring. He indicated that he had problems. He had no experience with muscle injuries, so it was difficult for him to determine its limit,” he said as cited by Voetbalnieuws.
In the next few days, the Nigerian striker is anticipated to have a scan to determine the severity of the injury.
