The player, who is eligible to play for the Super Eagles, has been excellent for his club, hitting a lot of goals, most notably a hatrick.
British-Nigerian forward, Chuba Akpom, has revealed that he wants to play in the Premier League amid transfer speculations.
The forward has been outstanding in his recent performance for Middlesbrough, and according to him, he feels hungrier to achieve success in his career.
The 27-year-old has recently piqued the interest of some Premier League clubs, having bagged 13 goals in his 20 domestic league appearances for Boro this season.
The striker, who is eligible for the Super Eagles, has also scored four goals in his past four games, including a hat-trick against Wigan Athletic, who are now bottom of the league, in Boro's 4-1 victory.
However, this has led to numerous nominations and awards for him, including the Skybet Player of the Month title for December.
The attacker, who has put on a standout performance since Michael Carrick took over, declared his desire to play in the Premier League despite rumours of moves.
“I feel like this last year or two, I've probably developed the most in my career,” he told Sky Sports.
“I've shown a willingness to learn and improve my game. I feel hungrier than ever before. You're never too old to learn and grow.” he added.
The attacker, who has expressed his desire for the Premier League and the hope to play for his side in the EPL top flight, has been extensively linked with a move to Southampton during this January transfer window.
“I want to play in the Premier League, it's where the best play and it's a dream I've always had. Hopefully I can do that with Middlesbrough. I've just got to keep working.” Akpom said.
However, his team is now sixth in the Championship standings and suffered their first loss in January when they travelled to Sunderland.
The player has played a few games for the England youth teams but has pledged his allegiance to play for Nigeria since 2019, and would undoubtedly get a call-up from Jose Peseiro following his recent performance.
