Genk willing to reduce Onuachu’s valuation amidst interest from Atletico Madrid
Last summer, Onuachu was denied a move away from Cegeka Arena because of Genk’s asking price, but this summer, the Genk hierarchy is ready to budge
Genk is willing to reduce their asking price for talismanic striker Paul Onuachu from €25million to €15million amidst interest from Atletico Madrid.
Onuachu has been brilliant for the Limburgers for the last two seasons, scoring 66 goals and assisting ten in 107 appearances.
Last season, the former Midtjylland hitman notched 33 goals in the Jupiler League regular season, and he was linked to several top sides.
Onuachu was linked to Arsenal, West Ham, and Lyon, but nothing concrete materialized because of Genk’s €25million valuation.
However, Onuachu could be on his way to the Laliga this summer, as Voetbal Primeur reports that Atleti boss Diego Simeone wants to recruit the Nigerian striker.
The Spanish champions wanted Onuachu last summer, but Genk refused to budge on their €25million valuation. But according to Voetbal Primeur, the former Belgian champions would be willing to reduce their asking fee to €15million this summer.
The transfer window opens in June, and Los Colchoneros would look to wrap up a deal for Onuachu as soon as possible.
