First Technical University (Tech-U), Ibadan -The University thus strives to cultivate a cadre of technical professionals with requisite entrepreneurial skills and capability for creating jobs and . Though wholly owned by the Oyo State Government, Tech-U stands as Nigeria's first self-sustaining public university, on the strength of the unique public-private-partnership (PPP) model it runs.

The Governing Council of the University hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the post below:

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Summary

  • The post of the Vice-Chancellor of the First Technical University (TechU), Ibadan, will become vacant on 9th May, 2022 when the tenure of the incumbent and pioneer Vice Chancellor ends.
  • In accordance with the provisions of the First Technical University, Ibadan, Oyo State (Amendment) Law, 2018.

The Candidate

  • The ideal candidate for the post of the Vice-Chancellor, First Technical University, Ibadan should possess a good university education with track records of management of human and material resources.

The candidate is also expected to:

  • Be a distinguished scholar of the rank of Professor, with a minimum of seven (7) years experience on that level and demonstrable ability to provide academic and administrative leadership for a Technical University
  • Be a person of impeccable character and integrity
  • Promote and manage healthy interactions among staff, students, alumni and other stakeholders in the University
  • Enjoy excellent physical and mental health
  • Have a dear vision for the development of the University
  • Be able to attract resources for the much-needed accelerated development of the University.
  • Be not more than sixty-five (65) years old as at the date of possible assumption of duty on 9th May, 2022
  • Have a track record that is nationally and internationally acknowledged by the academic communities through collaborations, grantsmanship and peer-reviewed scientific publications

Terms and Conditions of Service Applicable to the Post

  • The Vice-Chancellor shall hold office for a single term of five (5) years and upon such terms as shall, subject to the Law and the Statutes of the University, be determined by the Governing Council.
  • The remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable to the post of Vice-Chancellor in Nigerian public universities and as may be determined from time to time by the Governing Council of the First Technical University as appropriate.
