Everton veteran claims Ndidi’s Leicester City ‘have to’ beat Liverpool at home
Liverpool is vying to finish in the top four, and a loss against Leicester City might jeopardise their chances of doing so
Former Everton star, Kevin Campbell, has cautioned that Leicester City must defeat Liverpool to keep their place in the English Premier League, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Foxes are now in the 19th place in the rankings, 2 points from safety, and have been led to a terrible run of form during the 2022–23 English Premier League season campaign.
The ex-Arsenal player cautions Leicester City that they must win tonight against Jürgen Klopp’s team to increase their chances of escaping relegation.
The Merseyside-based squad is in excellent shape as they strive for a top-four spot and the opportunity to play in the Champions League, but Wilfred Ndidi’s team will be straining to defeat Liverpool after losing twice and winning once in their previous five games.
Campbell continues by warning Leicester to take advantage of beating Liverpool at home if they want to preserve their standing in the league
“Leicester have to take care of their business at home. I know it’s a tough game against Liverpool, but it’s their home games that are really going to set their stall out as to where they go.
“For Liverpool it’s a must win because they’re chasing down a Champions League spot, and they need that spot, but if Leicester lose it then the writing is on the wall for them.” he told talkSPORT, as quoted by Leicestermercury.
Although, depending on how Everton, Nottingham Forest, and Leeds United play in their last two games of the season, a defeat to Liverpool could not signal the end of their stay in the top-flight division.
