“Errors made”- Former Arsenal star reacts after Everton splits win with Leicester City

Everton presently hangs at the bottom of the English Premier League table with four games remaining

Everton star Alex Iwobi has reacted to the Toffees’ split win against Leicester City on Monday night.

The classic relegation six-pointer between Everton and Leicester City finished in a thrilling 2-2 tie, despite Everton’s best efforts to win all three points.

The former Arsenal attacker afterwards admitted that the club had made mistakes after giving up their one-goal advantage, which had allowed both teams to come from behind to draw the game.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, after going nine games without a goal, was able to step up and fire in the first goal of the game from the penalty spot.

Caglar Soyuncu levelled the score for the King Power team with a half-volley after Sean Dyche’s team failed to clear a set piece.

Jamie Vardy pounced on a clear feed from James Maddison, and showed a clean set of heels to Michael Keane before rounding Jordan Pickford and netting the goal to give Dean Smith’s team the lead.

Daniel Iversen denied Calvert-Lewin, but Nigeria’s Iwobi capitalised on the rebound to tie the score once again, this time for the visiting side.

The Nigerian forward further stated that he and his squad will continue to strive to stay in the English Premier League, where the Merseysiders now reside in the relegation zone.

“Errors [were] made, but the support stayed, [I] appreciate the love. We go again,” he wrote on his social media page.

Everton will make a trip away from Goodison Park Stadium, but this time would be heading to Falmer Stadium to face Brighton & Hove Albion.
