Ekiti Governorship Election: Voting Commences (Photos)
Voting has commenced in some polling units in Ekiti State as voters troop out to vote for their preferred governorship candidate.
The elected governorship candidate would take over from the state Governor, Kayode Fayemi whose tenure would end in 2023.
The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives (APC), Biodun Oyebanji, candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Segun Oni and Bisi Kolawole of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and others would be hoping to win the governorship seat on Saturday.
Ezenwoko’s Blog had earlier reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission has deployed its staff and electoral materials to each polling unit and noted that accreditation and voting would commence at 8:30 a.m and close at 2:30 p.m.
The commission wrote in a post on its Twitter account, “any registered voter who joins the queue before 2.30p.m would be accredited to vote, but anyone who comes after 2:30 pm would not be allowed to join the queue.”
INEC on Saturday also promised that the vote of the electorates would count in the Ekiti State Governorship election.
