Dennis’ efffort not enough as Man City decimate Watford; Lookman caged as Leicester City draw against Aston Villa

It was a bad day for Super Eagles stars in the English Premier League .

Leicester City were held to a goalless draw at the King Power Stadium, while Dennis’ Watford suffered a 5-1 thrashing at Manchester City.

Watford’s hopes of staying afloat suffered another significant dent after their loss at the Etihad. Arsenal-linked Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring within four minutes after the start. He then doubled the Citizens’ lead in the 23rd minute.

The Hornets thought they had found a way back into the game when Dennis assisted Hassane Kamara’s goal that made it 2-1 in the 28th minute.
However, the English champions replied six minutes later to take a 3-1 lead into the break.

Jesus scored two more in the second half to wrap up a 5-1 victory for Manchester City and compound Watford’s woes.

Meanwhile, at the King Power, it was a blunt performance from the foxes, as Leicester were held to a goalless draw against Aston Villa.
The foxes failed to win their last two games, while Villa had lost their previous four.

Lookman saw 80 minutes of action, but he had a drab show, as he couldn’t muster any shot on goal, and he had just one successful dribble. Kelechi Iheanacho was not involved in the game as he watched from the bench.

Also, Nigeria-eligible midfielder Timothy Iroegbunam made his second appearance for Aston Villa when he came on for Douglas Luiz in the 76th minute.

Iroegbunam was born in England, but he is of Nigerian descent.
