Bandits abduct two Kaduna APC women leaders


Bandits have reportedly abducted two women leaders of the All Progressives Congress along the Manini flashpoint in the Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The incident happened when the women leaders, Hajiya Lami Awarware and her assistant, Hajiya Haulatu Aliyu, attended the inauguration of the state governor, Uba Sani.

The Chairman, Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union, Ishaq Kasai, confirmed the development to newsmen on Wednesday.

It was learnt that the suspects, during the abduction on Tuesday, whisked the women away into the forest.

Apart from the women, the chairman said scores of other victims were kidnapped by the suspects.

He identified the abducted women leaders as Hajiya Lami Awarware and her assistant, Hajiya Haulatu Aliyu.

The abductors, according to the chairman, are yet to contact the families of the victims or any person in the area.

As of the time of filing this report, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mohammad Jalige, had yet to respond to our correspondent’s enquiry on the incident.
