Aribo urges Rangers teammates on as title race heats up
The Gers are looking to retain their title this season, but they currently sit a point behind arch-rivals Celtic in the title race
Super Eagles star Joe Aribo has urged his Rangers teammates to continue with their brilliant and intense gameplay as they look to retain their Premiership title.
Rangers secured a tough 2-0 victory when they welcomed Hibernian at Ibrox on Wednesday. The win was the Gers’ second consecutive victory after an embarrassing 3-0 loss to Celtic in the Old Firm derby last week.
However, the Scottish champions still lie one point away from title contenders Celtic who also won their game against Aberdeen on Wednesday.
After the game against Hibernian, the Nigerian midfielder was happy with the victory, but he wants his colleagues to replicate that performance for the remainder of the season.
“It was important, we knew we had to start fast. I thought we did,” Aribo told Rangers TV.
“We got in their faces, we made it hard for them to settle, and we got all three points.”
“We need to keep going, keep pushing. We need to play all our games like that with that kind of intensity.
“We can’t let the opposition be comfortable on the football field,” he added.
Rangers face Annan next in the round of 16 of the Scottish FA Cup, before their crucial Europa League fixture against Borussia Dortmund next week.
