APC Chieftain Reveals How IPOB Can Secure Kanu’s Release

The Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria, Osita Okechukwu, has charged the Indigenous People of Biafra to work with the Ohanaeze Ndigbo to seek the release of it leader.

Okechukwu in a chat with newsmen on Sunday in Enugu said the decision will help the South-East pursue its presidential ambition.

He stated, “IPOB should join Prof. George Obiozor-led Ohanaeze Ndigbo to kill two birds with one stone.”

The DG of VON said shutting down states in the region would only lead to more loss of lives.

Okechukwu added putting the states on hold would also lead to poverty, underdevelopment, and stagnation of the region’s economy.

He said, “Working with Ohanaeze for political solution is not cowardice, but pragmatic and the home-bitter truth solution.”

The All Progressives Congress chieftain said even though people of the region support IPOB’s agitation for secession, Igbo people, however, have passed the road of civil war.

“While shutting down is happening, the Yorubas and others are yearning to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

“The pragmatic route is political solution in collaboration with the Ohaneze, let’s sheath our swords.”

In a related development, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has berated the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, linking Nnamdi Kanu to the South East killings.

Ezenwoko’s Blog reports that Malami had in a press conference accused Nnamdi Kanu of killing Dr Chike Akinyuli and former presidential aide, Ahmed Gulak.

The AGF also accused the Kanu-led IPOB of attacking 164 police stations and killing 175 security operatives across the country, stating that a Presidential Ad-hoc Committee which was inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari to investigate activities of the IPOB came up with the figures.
