AFCON 2021: Nigeria business mogul Femi Otedola promises Super Eagles ₦102m if they win the title
The team continues to raise eyebrows with their outstanding displays, and this has warranted a promise from one of Nigeria’s richest men
Nigeria billionaire businessman Femi Otedola has promised to reward the Super Eagles with two-hundred and fifty dollars ($250,000) if they win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The Super Eagles are currently in the round or 16 stage, where they will take on the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia on Sunday, and they are considered big favourites going into the tie.
They have posted dominant displays so far in the tournament, despite the poor preparation. The first game against Egypt, which they won 1-0, was a masterclass, and the wins against Guinea-Bissau and Sudan were outstanding, and because of this, the team has received a lot of plaudits.
In a tweet by Otedola, he posted the video of the Governor of the Central bank of Nigeria conveying his goodwill message and promise to the team.
“Before we landed, Femi Otedola, who is also a member of CACOVID, has asked me to tell you if you lift the trophy, he has in the bank for you naira equivalent of two-hundred and fifty dollars ($250,000),” Emefiele said.
“This is just the beginning, and I assure you that if you win your round of 16 game, I’m sure that maybe one or two members of CACOVID will come and make a promise.” He added.

The three-time AFCON kings have received a series of promises, and it is left to be seen if the promises will spur them on to perform or they would be distractions.
Nonetheless, before they can think of the monetary rewards, they need to win their game against Tunisia on Sunday first.
