AC Milan looking at another winger of Nigerian descent as Villarreal stay firm on ₦35billion fee for Chukwueze
Chukwueze has just one year on his current contract, but Villarreal are willing to hold out for a big fee
AC Milan are exploring the option of signing Arnaut Danjuma from Villarreal as the club is holding out for a ₦35billion(€35miilon) fee for Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze, Soccernet reports.
Nigerian star Chukwueze will be out of contract at Villarreal at the end of next season but he is not willing to extend his stay at the club.
The 24-year-old attacker wants to leave Villarreal this summer, and some clubs have been in the mix for his signature. Serie A side AC Milan have already submitted a bid to Villarreal.
However, they failed to meet the Yellow Submarine’s €35million valuation of the winger.
AC Milan do not have the kind of financial power to process big money transfers, and they may not be able to meet Villarreal’s valuation.
According to Rudy Galeti, AC Milan are already looking at alternatives. They are exploring the option of signing Danjuma from Villarreal as he is a cheaper option.
But the Lagos-born Netherlands international does not have an encouraging injury record. Also on their radar is Midtjylland forward Isaksen.
Nonetheless, Villarreal could still shift ground, as they have to sell Chukwueze this summer because he would be a free agent next summer.
