“We are Ready” – Ex-University lecturer turn coach sends message to Waldrum’s Falcons ahead of W’Cup clash

Canada Women’s National team coach has shared her excitement ahead of the Women’s World Cup, and their fixture against the Super Falcons…

Canada’s coach, Bev Priestman, has mentioned her team is looking forward to the group opening fixture against the Super Falcons, Ezenwoko’s blog.ng reports.

The former university lecturer, who is now the coach of Canada’s women’s national team, has not shown any fears as he looks to take on Nigeria on the 21st of July.

With news of the Super Falcons’ coach voicing his displeasure over how the Nigeria Football Federation has handled the preparation for the biggest female tournament in the world of football, Priestman is at the peak of optimism.

Priestman, as quoted by Braceradio, revealed that his team are prepared to face any obstacle as they look to kick off their World Cup campaign later this month.

“Our team has been working so hard to prepare for the World Cup, and we are ready to give our best and make our fans happy.”

The Canadians are one of the predicted favourites to reach the latter stages of the competition and possibly win the cup being the reigning Women’s Football Olympic Champions.

They arrived in Australia on Wednesday to properly prepare the players and the staff for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, acclimatize them to the weather and familiarize them with life as temporary Aussies.

The Super Falcons are also set to fly to Australia on Sunday for their own preparations. The nine-time African Champions will be looking to put all the recent news in the media behind them and hopefully put on a show that will make the country proud.
