‘My Husband Loves His Dog More Than Me’ – Woman Cries Out As She Seeks Divorce

A woman is currently seeking for divorce on the grounds that her husband loves his dogs more than her.

The 40-year-old identified as Rashidat Ogunniyi, told the Igando Customary Court that she wants to put an end to her 12-year-old marriage because the only thing her husband, Kazeem cares about is his dog.

She said: “Kazeem is an irresponsible husband and father. He lacks care and love for me and our children. He only cares about the health, happiness and safety of his dog. He always showers the dog with compliments.”

She also maintained that her husband had become quite violent and she was fearful for her life.

She said: “My husband turned me into a punching bag, he beats me at the slightest provocation. There was a day he beat me in public and tore my cloth.

“I live every minute of my life in fear. Save me from the cruel hands of my husband and grant me the custody of our children.”

Rashidat’s husband has often been served court papers concerning the dissolution of the marriage but he has refused to show up in court.

Adeniyi Koledoye, the court president adjourned the case to Jan. 18 for judgement.
