Former Italy International says Super Eagles star reminds him of Cavani
Victor Osimhen picked up where he left off in his post-World Cup appearances, scoring 10 goals to bring his total to 34 in 64 Italian games.
Italian Riccardo Bigon has revealed that the Nigerian international Victor Osimhen reminds him of Edinson Cavani.
The former Hellas Verona sporting director, who hung his boot in 2004, has refused to leave the football world completely, spending some time as a Sporting director of a few Italian clubs.
The 52-year-old, however, joined a few football legends to rain praises on the Nigerian attacker who recently became the first player to hit ten goals in the Serie A top flight.
Victor Osimhen has undoubtedly impressed the world with his performance for Luciano Spalletti’s men and has piqued the interest of many football clubs vying for his signature.
Bigon has described the Super Eagles attacker’s character as a charismatic and technical leader and noted that his zeal to win reminds him of Cavani.
The Uruguayan striker has undoubtedly given the Italians a good show as he shuffled between US Palermo and Diego Maradona’s stadium in Napoli for a couple of years.
The former Reginna manager, in a discussion on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli as quoted by ilnapolista, said.
“In this Naples, I see a charismatic and technical leader: Victor Osimhen. From a character point of view, due to the desire he has to win and to chase after his opponents, he reminds me of Cavani.”
The Parthenopeans will fight tooth and nail when they welcome the old lady on Friday, and the Super Eagles attacker will hope to keep up with his scoring form.
