After Napoli slammed a €110m on Victor Osimhen, teams targeting the UEFA Champions League may be discouraged by the heavy price tag.

Premier League giants, Manchester United and Arsenal have been touted as potential destinations but with Aurelio De Laurentiis’ heavy valuation of the 23-year-old attacker, this may discourage teams like Arsenal from coming forward with an offer in the region of Napoli’s desires.

According to Corrieredellosport via TuttoNapoli, Osimhen will also push for a reduction in the price tag should he find a suitable suitor. Manchester United have been touted as a potential destination as he was contacted in the past by the Premier League giants.

Newcastle United have also indicated interest and may be the only team capable of coughing out such heavy fees at the moment.

The Magpies have been impressive since the turn of the year as the appointment of Eddie Howe has turned their fate around.

Newcastle signified interest in January but were dissuaded by Napoli’s €100m valuation at the time.

With the attacker even playing better since January, Napoli have increased their asking price and any team willing to sign Osimhen my have to dip deeper into their pockets than expected.

De Laurentiis is also believed to be willing to listen to offers as he wants to reduce the Partenopei’s current wage bill.

Osimhen’s striking partner, Dries Mertens has also been offered a new contract and this is seen as a move that may indicate a possible exit for the Nigerian.
