Wike Makes First Public Appearance After Losing PDP’s Vice Presidential Ticket
The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike on Saturday made his first public appearance after losing the Vice Presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Recall that Wike lost the chance to be Atiku Abubakar’s running mate to the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa.
Wike who was dressed in a white kaftan was accompanied by his wife, Justice Eberechi Suzette Nyesom-Wike, to the wedding ceremony of Chima Emmanuel Aguma.
The ceremony was attended by many dignitaries on Saturday.
Some of those present at the event include the Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr Ipalibo Harry-Banigo; former Rivers Governor, Dr Peter Odili and his wife, Justice Mary Odili, Justice Supreme Court (rtd); Speaker Ikuinyi Owaji-Ibani; Leader of Rivers Assembly, Martin Amaewhule and Rivers Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate, Siminalaye Fubara among others.
Chima is the son of the late Rivers Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Emmanuel Chinwenwo Aguma (SAN) and the immediate past Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Mrs Inimefien Aguma.
Governor Wike has refused to release a statement since Okowa emerges as the vice-presidential candidate of the main opposition party.
