We Saw It Coming, They Are Easterners – Nigerians React To Obi Cubana’s Arrest

Nigerians have reacted to the arrest of socialite and businessman Obinna Iyiegbu popularly known as Obi Cubana.

Recall that Ezenwoko’s Blog earlier reported that the businessman was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for money laundering at Jabi, Abuja around noon on Monday 1st of October.

A source had disclosed to the Punch that he was being held on the grounds of alleged money laundering and tax fraud.

The source said: “Obi Cubana was arrested and brought to the EFCC headquarters on Monday afternoon over allegations of money laundering and tax fraud. He is being grilled by detectives as we speak.”

Nigerians have however shown their displeasure at his arrest with some stating that the government need money, with others saying he was arrested because he is from the Eastern part of Nigeria.
