Wamakko urges supporters to celebrate victory peacefully

Following the declaration of the All Progressive Congress candidate in the governorship election in Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, as the winner of the poll, a former governor of the state, Aliyu Wamakko, has advised supporters of the party to celebrate the victory peacefully.

This was contained in a press statement signed by his special assistant on media and publicity, Bashar Abubakar, and made available to newsmen in the state in the early hours of Monday.

He said, “Following the announcement of a landslide victory of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Sokoto state, APC leader in the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has called on all the party’s supporters and loyalists to ensure they conduct their victory rallies in a very matured and peaceful manner.

“Senator Wamakko while thanking all the stakeholders of the party, described APC as a peace-loving party in the country and State as a whole, therefore, there is the need to sustain the tempo.

“Wamakko also expressed gratitude to the Almighty Allah for granting APC a hard-fought victory.”

The former governor in the statement also dedicated the victory to the peace-loving people of the state who stood with the party through thick and thin.

He assured the people of the state that they will never regret reposing tremendous confidence and trust in the APC at all levels.

He further vowed that the APC government under Ahmed Aliyu will be a real government of the people, for the people and by the people.
