Unknown Gunmen Kidnap RCCG Pastor, Teacher
A Cross River-based pastor serving with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and female school teacher has been abducted by unknown gunmen.
Reports reaching Ezenwoko’s Blog at this time revealed that the pastor who identifies as Sunday Adediran was whisked away by gunmen who stormed the Ikot Eneobong community and abducted the two victims.
According to an eyewitness, Mrs. Udeme, claimed that the kidnappers gained entrance into the house of the victims after tearing the roof.
Another eyewitness, Mr Charles, alleged that the gunmen made away with their victims despite the initial resistance by some residents in the isolated area known for its deplorable road network.
Reacting, the police spokesperson, Irene Ugbo, said they were yet to receive any complaint on the incident.
Ugbo stated that as an organization the police would go the extra length to get to the root of the matter.
“We are yet to get information on the issue, as I speak with you nobody has come to the state to report the issue,” she stated.
Meanwhile, no fewer than sixty-six people were reportedly kidnapped during last Sunday service at an Emmanuel Baptist Church, Kakkau Daji in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
One Joshua Alamageni who claimed to be a member of the church gave an insight into what transpired during the attack which claimed two lives.
In his narration, Alamageni alleged that their church pastor took refuge under a table when the assailants arrived at the premises of the church, shooting sporadically.
He stressed that the pastor subsequently jumped through a window and escape into the bush. In his estimation, Alamageni said the gunmen who attacked the church were about 50 in numbers.
Ezenwoko’s Blog understands that the attack which happened on October 31, 2021, has been confirmed by the Vice-Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Joseph Hayat.
Though the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan, had confirmed the kidnap too but was unsure of the number of persons whisked away by the assailants.
